I also heard the spokesperson of CORI on RTE's Morning Ireland saying the religious orders would like to deal with the victims "directly". I'm not sure that the victims would like to deal with them "directly". The state should do as was done in Canada: give the victims of child abuse the chance to move on with their own lives, and let the state deal with the religious orders on their behalf. You'll note that some of the religious orders in Ireland are no longer in Canada. They were sent into liquidation because of the amount of money they had to contribute.
